My mother started a Madame Alexander doll collection for
me the year I was born — 1954. The collection speaks
for itself and reflects pieces of my childhood, whether it
was my favorite books, characters from my many years studying
dance and drama, or playing with my cousins on family farms
in the Midwest.
I'm sad to say goodbye to my childhood playmates, but
there is never enough room in our home these days to
accomodate all the instruments my husband and sons play! So
— adios my amigas!
While all the dolls are in a lovely condition considering
their years (as the photos indicate), the desert and time
have had their effects, and some need tighter restringing, as
noted in their individual descriptions.
I will miss the magic and wonderful memories these dolls
have imprinted on my heart. I hope they will find loving
homes and bring joyful delight to another girl's hopes and
dreams.
