This is the beginning of what would grow to be the home where Michael and I raised our family. It started out as a ramada (basically a roof and partial walls) with storage and workrooms attached. Over the years we added addition after addition until it eventually became a four-bedroom home — rustic in every sense. The ramada became our living room with adobe floors and a majestic boulder fireplace with hand-hewn mesquite mantlepiece.
