Linda's home in Pacific Heights was majestic — a survivor of the earthquake of 1906. Beautifully renovated by her creative hand, the attic became a world of its own. The Pirate Room was designed especially for my children, and their bunks had hatches that opened to the stars. The Bunny Room — which is where we parents were banished to — provided the view painted in this watercolor. Oh we pioneer ladies had to rough it in those days!
